Meet the Lord of Obstacle
My White Ganesh is holding Green Tara in the Yab-yum pose using even his trunk to hold her tight. The Yab-yum form of Ganesh (the elephant-headed Hindu god of enterprise, who removes obstacles and vouchsafes wisdom) in Japan is called Shoten who is associated with Tantric practices, one of his images being ‘double-bodied’, the sexual union of male and female. Ganesh and Tara are joined in non-duality: they are the divine couple, the living image of the realization of enlightenment.
